Hello everyone! This is Aishvarya Joshi, an aspiring engineer. Okay so leaving all this aside, I want to share my knowing and getting into THE YIC experience! Okay, so while just randomly scrolling through the Facebook newsfeed, I came across the YIC page in the suggestions, that too with the IIT Delhi tag, and of course all the to-be-engineers have a tingling feeling all over for the IITs, and so yes, I read about it and applied, not instantly! Seeing the form and it’s requirements, it took me two days to fill it! Yes, that’s how nervous I was, just in filling it! Right after filling it, I started checking my mail every now and then, ferociously! One day later, I still didn’t receive any mail, and a friend of mine, who also filled up the form, received it and had the telephonic interview the same day too! Honestly, I was more jealous than hard broken *hides face*! He got selected. I congratulated him, and the good thing was, the next day I received the MAIL! I was thrilled! I had the interview the other day, and I was having a nervous breakdown! What else can be expected from an introvert, who was going to have her first ever interview!? So quite literally, I begged people to interview me, and two beautiful souls even did that,to boost my confidence ~ my mother and the same friend! He asked me to stay calm and talk coolly. He also told me the YIC people, who interview you, make people comfortable! And so yes. The interview was fabulous. And the best part, at the end of those fifteen minutes, I was told I’m selected, that I met the criteria. I WAS OFFICIALLY INVITED TO YIC! Hence, to conclude, I would like to say that being a person surrounded by wonderful people and mentors is a blessing in disguise! That’s it. Apologies if the above written rambling sounded weird! But, this is what excitement is. Eagerly waiting for March! Thankyou!
